Chess becomes an interesting game when you learn the rule completely and understand how each chess piece moves. Chess consists of 6 important pieces. The King, The Queen, The Bishop, The Knight, The Rook and The Pawn. Click each of the chess pieces to know exactly how they move.

The KingThe King

The King can move and attack 1 space in any direction.

The Queen The Queen

The queen can move or attack as many spaces as you want in any direction.

 The BishopThe Bishop

The bishop can move or attack as many spaces as you want diagonally.

 The KnightThe Knight

The knight moves in an "L" formation, 2 squares Up, Down, Right, or Left, then turning 1 square in either direction.  It attacks the last space it lands on.

The rook can move or attack as many spaces as you want Up, Down, Right, or Left.

 The PawnThe Pawn

The pawn can only move 1 space forward (except on the first turn it has the option to move 2).  It attacks 1 space forward on a diagonal.
